Model Thylane Blondeau caused a worldwide stir when she posed in the January 2011 issue of Vogue Paris at ten years old. She posed with other very young models in a beauty editorial, edited by Tom Ford, wearing "mom clothes", as described by then editor-in-chief Carine Roitfeld, and lots of diamonds.
As a result, the fashion industry came under a lot of scrutiny for sexualizing children on camera.
Blondeau then scored the cover of Vogue Enfants, a supplement of the Paris publication, which created real buzz about her genuine beauty and supermodel potential. Still, some controversy ensued about the youngster's high heels, gold metallic ensemble, and sultry body position. Her confidence shined through in the beginning of her career when she debuted Jean Paul Gaultier's spring 2005 line on the runway.
Now, Blondeau is thirteen years old and is the cover girl for the April issue of Jalouse, a French fashion book. The magazine dubs her the next Kate Moss on the cover, which features the model in more of a conservative close-up shot.
