Ideal Fashion Blogger, Tianna Bell of Indi-Culture recently wrote about High Waisted Swimwear coming back into vogue. While fashion's upper echelon always lead the trend, those who follow the upper crust typically align with what's on sale. While some retailers got a jump on the upcoming summer season ( as early as March ), which is predicted to be short but hot after a very long winter, others are just getting in the game.
But one thing is certain, with the impending Memorial Day Weekend marking the unofficial start of summer, many retailers predict to see the first big push of summer apparel throughout the coming week. For those retailers that are taking the chance to make sure shelves are appropriately stocked, long lines and heavy foot traffic should be the norm. Here's a peak at some of the sales going on and where to snatch your early summer fashion on sales this weekend.
H&M
H&M rolled out an early national Ad Campaign toting $4.95 Bikinis and Bottoms throughout early March. Expect lines to be long for these cheap chic fashions, which featured Giselle Bundchen, David Beckham and Andrea Dianconu in the latest styles. Extremely affordable, H&M's line is sure to be a doorbuster, with prices running from $4.95 - $34.95 for the collection. This type of high profile celebrity studded campaign is atypical of large retailers, especially considering their is no designer collaboration for this collection's huge marketing push.
Beach Bunny Swimwear
Not to be confused with another popular bunny icon, the Beach Bunny Swimwear brand recently exposed its Spring / Summer collection featuring gorgeous models Irina Shayk, recently seen on the cover of Vogue Spain with a nude Cristian Ronaldo, and rising star Hailey Clauson in their new Lady Lace collection. Be prepared to pony up for the quality, as the typical outfit in the new line runs from $160 - $200.
Calzedonia
Another noteworthy label, if not a little higher priced than the previous two, Italian retailer Calzedonia is offering a range of styles in its new Summer 2014 collection, which featured model Sara Sampio to evoke your "Jungle Vibe" while splashing in the surf. Tyson Bellou contributed the male looks. While probably not the first thought for most price-conscious shoppers, many online stores have Calzedonia for fairly reasonable prices
Shopbop
Bringing prices back to more affordable H&M type levels, Shopbop is trying to create waves this summer with their with yet another Sports Illustrated Rookie of the Year, Bregje Heinen (the first being Sara Sampio). She apparently is garnering favor with the brand, having appeared in several collections with the etailer prior to now. Prices really range in this collection, but there is a great selection in the $15 - $60 range.
While H&M and Beach Bunny Swimwear may have made more of a splash with their huge swimwear ad campaigns behind big names such as Gisele Bundchen and Irina Shayk, your favorite retailers are still in the hunt. Forever 21, Zappos, Macys and JCPennys may have been more quiet but still have their signature summer collections on shelves very soon, if not already in stores. Mega-retailers like Target and KMart already have summer collections in store windows. There is no shortage of options for this Memorial Day weekend, even if its predicted to be a rainy one.
