The Council of Fashion Designers of America is the highest plateau of fashion stewardship and recognition in America, so receiving any kind of award from the CFDA is panultimate to being heralded by Anna Wintour herself. In fact, Anna Wintour was on hand at this year's CFDA awards to provide fashion trailblazer Rihanna with the Fashion Icon Award.
