Fashionista will host its third annual “How to Make it in Fashion” conference on June 27, 2014 at the High Line Hotel in New York. This stuff is like CANDY for interns like myself. What’s better than cold hard knowledge?
Cold hard fashion (the Alexander Wang kind) probably has that instant gratification factor, but first you've got to know what you're talking about. Last year, Zac Posen gave the keynote speech and Rebecca Minkoff talked about starting her fashion label from the ground up. Oh, and Leandra Medine of Man Repeller showed up to give some good old-fashioned advice. This conference isn’t only for fashionistas; it’s for future designers, techy people and the social media savvy.
This year, besides a career-focused day of keynote speeches from the top editors at Elle, InStyle and Teen Vogue, as well as designers and PR fashion people (like DKNY PR Girl Aliza Licht), the best thing the ticket could buy is the mentoring session you’ll get with a person who’s “made it.”
